How long does it take to make my bag?
Every JackalBerry piece is handcrafted to order, and our usual make time is 2–3 weeks. If you need it sooner, add the date you need it by at checkout or get in touch, and we’ll work round the clock to get it done for you.
Can I personalise my bag?
Yes. You choose the leather colour and the lining, and you can add a name or initials on a leather label inside. Each product page shows the options available for that piece.
What linings can I choose from?
We offer a range of linings, including South African shweshwe, canvas and our JackalBerry × Matthew Bell prints. For corporate orders we can also create branded or completely custom linings.
Is the leather genuine?
Yes. Our bags are handcrafted using local genuine leather, and our canvas range combines durable canvas with genuine leather trim.
Can you create a completely custom design?
Yes. We work with clients to create gifts that can include custom bag designs, personalised linings and meaningful details. Tell us about the person or the occasion and we’ll help you shape something meaningful.
How much does delivery cost?
Courier delivery within Johannesburg starts from R100, courier delivery to the rest of South Africa starts from R150, and Postnet to Postnet starts from R100. Larger bags may add a small extra cost. International delivery starts from R950. You can also collect for free from Riverclub, Johannesburg. Your exact delivery cost is shown at checkout.
Do you deliver internationally?
Yes. We deliver worldwide, with international courier delivery starting from R950.
Can I add a gift message?
Yes. Add your message at checkout and we’ll print it on a card and place it in the box. Gift wrapping is also available on request.
How can I pay?
We accept credit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay and SnapScan, and you can pay in instalments with Payflex.
Do you offer corporate gifts?
Yes. We create corporate gifts for staff recognition, client appreciation, long service, retirements and events, with pricing tailored to quantity and specification, and options including laser engraving, personalised linings and custom designs. Send us a corporate enquiry.
Where are you based?
JackalBerry is a privately owned business based in Sandton, Johannesburg. We have been handcrafting personalised bags and gifts in South Africa since 2013, and we deliver across South Africa and beyond.

Quality leather ages beautifully with a little care. Read our tips for caring for your leather bag. For canvas bags, we offer an optional Scotchgard treatment for extra protection against dust and rain.
